Shine Outreach

As you have probably heard, we have joined the Welcome Wagon team as one of only two churches listed for Oldham County. This is a tremendous outreach opportunity for us! In fact, the April 12, 2007 edition of the Oldham Era announced that our current population in Oldham County has now surpassed 55,000 with a growth rate of 3.1%. If we continue to grow at this rate, our county will surpass 61,000 by 2010. These folks need a church home and we are just the church family to meet their needs.

We need your help to reach these people! Please sign up (sign up at the welcome center) to be on a visitation team, or to write follow up letters, or to prepare small gifts for potential new members, or to adopt a new member or many other areas where we cannot succeed without your help!

1 Corinthians 4:7 tells us that we receive everything from God; we create nothing ourselves. With these gifts from God come obligations:

· Skills and talents; we are obligated to make use of them.

· The place we’re in; we are obligated to cultivate the world there and spread the good news.

· The people around us; we are obligated to help them become what God wants for them.

We need to remind ourselves that we were not thrown into the world without purpose or equipment. We have been given gifts and opportunities to share them. Please join us and let Jesus shine through you!
