Growing up in a Christian home, I     attended   church and heard how to live a Christian life.  Jesus became "real" to me when I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior at the age of 18.  However, during my college days, I strayed away from God.  When I married my wonderful wife, Ann, we started attending a United Methodist Church and it was there that I rededicated my life to Christ.

In 1980, I heard God's call to ministry.  We moved to Kentucky so that I could attend Asbury Theological Seminary.  God had a wonderful plan as He guided us to remain in Kentucky.  I have had the privilege of serving several great United Methodist churches.  God brought us to Covenant United Methodist Church in 2003.  Covenant is a great congregation of believers who have a passion for Jesus Christ and we invite you to join us.

I have always been involved with kids. I coached baseball for 8 years at Lyndon Recreation. I also coached girls softball, basketball, gymnastics or anything else to hang out with the kids. I tried to give them all I had to help them as they grew up. But I began to realize that we all need more than any mother or father can give. There was a missing element in my life.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 41. I nearly ran to the altar at Aldersgate UMC to get on my knees and ask Jesus into my heart. It was there, on my knees that I began to understand Jesus Christ is the foundation for a complete and joy filled life. I still like to work with youth and mentor them. Kids still need to know how to lay down bunt or make a free throw. Those talents will fade through the years, but our relationship with Jesus Christ is forever.

My parents took me to church and had me baptized when I was an infant.  Today as a Christian, I count my blessings for parents who loved me and desired for me to have a faith-filled life.  My Christian walk since that day has been and continues to be a lifelong journey.  I have experienced low times apart from God and time totally consumed with passion, gratitude, and spiritual healing from Jesus, my Lord and my Savior.  One of the greatest gifts I received from my mother in my journey was the gift of studying God's Word to know Him better, to be with God and in Christian fellowship to see how God works through others.  The practice of these disciplines has proven to me time and again that a relationship with our Lord is not only essential, a basic need, but is the greatest joy of my life.  My joy and desire as a children's minister is that the children will come to know God in a way that produces Faith, Hope, and Love in their lives.  After all, Jesus said in Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me.  Don't stop them!  For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  He put His hands on their heads and blessed them.
